Is it Thawing???

It looks like a thaw is in the making! Temperature this morning was about 10 degrees according to my outdoor thermometer…but it’s on the rise…slowly and the ice is receding….slowly…

Stay warm my fellow ranchers and keep your eye on the temperature tonight because my friend Eric Berger at spacecityweather.com says it will be cold until this weekend when we may be able to put on our shorts and sun bathe!!

Native Texas Pecans

This morning as I was walking fence lines I noticed that the pecan trees are holding out for a little warmer weather but the birds are busy at it!!! This video allows you to hear them bringing in the morning sunshine! I’m not sure of the names of the birds that you can hear but they are happy!!​​

Texas Blessings!

I always count my blessing but I especially feel blessed when I see the mesquite budding out!  I know that spring is here! A time for renewal and new growing opportunities!

It Must Be Spring!! Go Figure!!

My fig tree is in full leaf-out mode!! My peaches are NOT!!!

 

Usually my peaches bloom before the fig…what could this mean???


 Texas is always know for that last minute frost in April…I am praying that the groundhog got it wrong for once in its life!! But, I have blankets at the ready just in case…
