More Glorious Rain!!
More and more glorious rain! After the years of drought I am embracing this most recent rain event! However, I have come across some more notable ways that our wildlife is coping with the deluge!
The other night I came upon a Doe and her fawn carefully picking their way across the road….at night….with creeks running high! I slowed way down to allow mother and baby to cross the road slowly and mother doe carefully searched along the fence line for a small break in the fence that both she and baby could escape through! Please keep your eye out for all of God’s creature trying to navigate their way to higher ground! Be patient! Be mindful!
Hummingbirds have Returned!
I am always amazed by these beautiful flying jewels in the air!
I made a batch of sugar water this morning when one of our winged visitors met me at the screen door wondering where the feeder was. How dare I not have the feeder ready!
March…..
What’s the saying????
March
If March comes in like a lamb then it will go out like a lion!
If March comes in like a lion….then it will go out like a lamb!
How is it greeting you?
Rain! Glorious Rain!
We are in for a few more days of glorious rain! I love the rain! I can also smell spring in the air! I know it’s right around the corner and the very beginning of spring has a wonderful, fresh smell!
We are also beginning to think about the Monarch Butterfly migration. They will begin to leave Mexico in early March and head our way. Several years ago we spotted a few of the delicate crystalis around the yard so we will be watching and recording any that we may see again this year.
Happy New Year!
I am very excited about starting a new year! We are having the most glorious rainfall of all times! I grew up knowing the importance of rain but these past few years of extreme drought has caused me to think, talk, and pray for rain! Huge cracks in the ground and dry stock tanks really drive this point home.
Happy New Year! Ya’ll
