Diamond V Ranch

There are ladybugs all over my Christmas garlands! 

I guess the fact that the garlands are fake hasn’t fazed them in the least! They almost look like tiny red Christmas balls that are moving through the branches!

This is Pearlie just checking out what’s for breakfast! I think she’s hoping for a hot buiscuit!

Tucked away under the foliage was a not so little praying mantis calmly enjoying a sunny day…and a few easy meals!!

There is a zinnia that has escaped its confines and is living secretly under my porch stairs…it has been quietly soaking up sun and rain with no mind to the world around it…or so I thought until upon closer examination I discovered tiny yellow butterfly wings somehow strewn around its base…

They are lying there so innocently…I can’t help but wonder…

I have discovered the best way to trim the marigolds!!!

I’m renaming this girl Marigold! She was even rubbing against them!! I happened to be going through my pictures this morning and realized I had not included them in my post.

The egrets are enjoying an early morning breakfast with Diamond and her calf.

It looks like this summer has been very productive! Round bales in the field. These bales are composed of native grass.

It is hot!!! But the paint has found a small patch of shade!

My old chocolate lab “Long Dog” has dug out his cool shady spot!

Even Pearlie, one of my favorite Longhorns, has found her inch of shade!  She has decided to go under one of the loafing sheds where she can go back and forth under the mini back rub.  These also help with flies and hey it does rub her back!!!

There’s no better place to be on a hot summer day than under some shade trees!!! The bull Diesel and several of the cows are relaxing before heading up to the top pasture!

How amazing! First tiny flashes of light across the grass! Fireflies!!
